Today finds me exploring the Snake River near Wawawai County Park which is the photo on the right. I came down to see either some river transportation (river barge traffic) or to determine if any of the migratory birds might be found. Neither! But I was treated to some spectacular views none-the-less.

Neill Public Library in Pullman, reading the current version of the Wall Street Journal. I've tried to do this at our library here on the campus of WSU, however they are very remiss in putting these out in a timely fashion, some days they don't make it out at all. So, gained a library card today, and read "today's" edition! A very nice library, small, but bright and well tended.

After a while another younger person came in to join us. When I asked if she would have any problem leaving the TV off, while she seemed surprised at my question, responded "I don't watch much anyway" Again, as unbelievable as it sounds, she joined in our conversation. The three of us sat in that room, sans the blaring television and chatted like neighbors! Refreshing!

I've heard it said: "the nuts don't fall far from the tree" So in my case, going back to my Dad, and my Mom's Dad (yep, good 'ol Grandpa George) we all seemed to be attracted to all things "shop"... so today, while over in Moscow, I took a trip with both of them, down memory lane. This store is a pretty amazing place to do that, from guns to kitchen plates, this Ace Hardware (Tri-States www.t-state.com ) has it all. Actually reminds me of visiting hardware stores with those two, and toy stores with my Son, his Son, and my two Grandsons over in Nebraska. I love it here!

Ahh, bonus day... going to post two photos today, then explain... why.
Lawson Gardens, and Palouse Ridge Golf Club. After my morning swim, on my way back home, I stopped by the WSU golf course (yes, "our" University has its own golf club) to check it out, find the driving range. A tournament was just getting under way, so I pulled out my iPhone, and grabbed this shot. Way before noon!
Ok, at noon, I'm up at the Lawson Gardens Botanical garden here in Pullman looking for the last of the season's butterflies. Found a Painted Lady, but really didn't get that good of a shot.

I took a picture from inside, on the pool deck, before the Photo Czar-ette (Lifeguard) very kindly informed me that WSU prohibits photos from the pool area... "privacy issue". Well my iPhone app "PerfectlyClear" crashes more often than it saves photos, so that photo is forever lost! Frustrating! This is a fantastic place to swim, and work-out. An amazing facility.

Parking! Today I'm over visiting with the Parking Czars here on Campus. I purchased a "Blue 1" pass to enable me to park, and not pay a "30 minutes for a quarter" meter. The University is a maze of lots and parking spaces along the street, all of which are "regulated". I'm far, far from figuring it all out, but living on campus, walking to almost all locations may preclude the necessity "to understand". It does appear that all this regulation is solely for revenue stream purposes. All seems so silly!

Up on the Terrell Mall, the center (heart) of the WSU campus. Went to the library for the Periodicals, but with all this "electronic media" learned that the "day's news" is not put out on the shelves until 4 pm. So, if you want to read a paper while at WSU, you won't be getting "current" news at the library! The NY Times, USA Today, and Spokane-Review are placed in various buildings entryway each day. The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Washington Post will just have to be "old" news, I guess!
The management term "stove pipe" has great life on this University campus!
